She has investigated human rights violations around the world, documenting war crimes in Afghanistan, South Sudan, and Ukraine, ethnic cleansing in the Central African Republic, and political violence in Burundi and Haiti, among others. She has published widely on human rights topics, conducted advocacy before UN and regional bodies, and appeared on national and international media. In 2005, she received the American Society of International Law\u2019s Distinguished Woman in International Law award.
